TexpoART - NEW REALITIES
We are going through difficult times, full of uncertainties, with a social insecurity in which we have all asked ourselves existential questions, maybe the time has come for the world to gather again and to move on. There were lessons learned about trust, about the importance of the scale of values, about personal and social priorities? These surprising, almost post-apocalyptic horizons, marked by pandemics, the economic crisis, the armament races, and the horrors of war, also require the restructuring of artistic vocabulary, in a situation where, everywhere, the funds allocated to art and culture are always smaller. Moreover, the reevaluation of adaptation to new conditions is necessary, seen as an act of intelligence for survival.
This edition of the Textile Art International Triennial TexpoART has the main theme the NEW REALITIES, as a new attitude towards the current situation, regardless of its meaning. Transposed into textile art, creative adaptation efforts involve unconventional approaches or exceeding the limits of traditionalism, either as a technique or as a system of compositional organization, capturing the dynamics and transformations of the contemporary world in the artistic adventure of creation. We do not know where today's society or art is going on, but the hope remains in positive metamorphoses and spectacular evolutions, specific to the human spirit, overcoming the obstacles inherent in any progress.
TexpoART 2023 - NEW REALITIES is open to professionals and master students in the field of Textile Arts with art works of medium size, made in the last 3 years.
Any textile techniques and any materials, traditional or unconventional, with witch the artists can configure their own interpretation of the idea of NEW REALITIES in a contemporary formula are accepted.
The Textile Art International Triennial TexpoART is sponsored by the National University of Arts ”George Enescu” and the Union of Visual Artists in Romania and will take place between 10 and 30 May 2023 in the Art Galleries ”Victoria” and ”Theodor Pallady” of the U.A.P.R – Iași (https://uapriasi.ro/galerii/) and the ”Aparte” Gallery of U.N.A.G.E. Iași (https://aparte.arteiasi.ro/). 
A. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
1. Registration for TexpoART is open to all textile artists from Romania and other countries, including senior students from the art universities.
2. Technical criteria:
• All techniques and textile materials can be used (textiles must be used by at least 70%).
• Parietal or sculptural objects are accepted, as long they respect the terms of participation.
• The work must demonstrate high aesthetic and technical qualities.
• Parietal artworks must be provided with hanging systems.
• The selected work must be complete and ready to be exhibited.
• The artworks must be perfectly finished inclusive on their back side.
• The artwork shall be made from imperishable materials.
3. Dimensions:
• Minimum 30 cm (on any side)
• Maximum 90 cm (on any side)
• The maximum weight admitted to the package is 3 kg.
4. Only one piece of artwork (that meets the criteria listed above) may be submitted at this exhibition.
5. The registration period is: 9 JANUARY - 10 FEBRUARY 2023.

6. For registration it is essential that artists send the following:
• completed entry form, filled in every part (with capital letters);
• 1 digital image of the artwork in format .JPG with a resolution of 300 DPI.
The quality of the image sent may influence the result of the selection:
• CV SUMMARY, maximum one page.
All documents must be completed in Romanian, English or French.
7. Trough the registration form, the artist authorizes the organizers of the exhibition to use all documents sent, for the promotion of the event. The materials sent for the registration shall not be returned to the author, they shall remain in the exhibition’s archive.
8. The works will be judged based on photographical material sent by participants.
9. The jury reserves the right to reject any artworks that do not correspond to the exhibition’s criteria.
10. The results of the selection will be announced by e-mail until 25 FEBRUARY 2023.
11. The accepted artworks must be sent between 1 st MARCH - 10 APRIL 2023 at the address that will be communicated by e-mail together with the selection results.
12. The participation fee is 80 Euro.
13. The participation fee will be paid after receiving the result of selection.
14. The work will be accompanied by the original receipt.
15. The participation fee covers the expenses for the promotion of the event and the reshipment of the works.
16. The artists that will not make the proof of payment will not be included in the event.
17. On the package shall be noted - No commercial value.
B. ORGANIZERS RESPONSABILITIES
The organizers undertakes to:
1. Organize the exhibition with the selected works.
2. Correctly inform the participants regarding the exhibition terms and dates.
3. Ensure the safety of the artworks, from the moment of receiving them until their reshipment to the author.
4. Promote the exhibition: local, national and international.
5. Organize the opening event of the exhibition
6. Return the works respecting the calendar of the event.
7. At the end of this edition of TexpoArt each participant will receive a printed catalogue of the event.
C. PARTICIPANTS RESPONSABILITIES
The artists selected undertakes to:
1. Respect all the terms of the exhibition.
2. Send all the required materials.
3. Respect the exhibition’s calendar.
4. Pack the work properly, to avoid damaging it during transport.
5. Inform the exhibition organizers of any change regarding the return address.

Registration deadline: 10 February 2023
The results of the selection: 25 February 2023
The period for sending the works: 1 st March - 10 April 2023
Exhibition period: 10 May - 30 May 2023
Reshipment of the works period: 10 June - 20 June 2023
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
1. The exposed works will not be commercialized during the exhibition.
2. Judging the work does not involve any awards, but their acceptance into the exhibition.
3. The organizers reserve the right to refuse to exhibit the works that differs from the images that were submitted for registration.
